Mojito, spritz, whiskey and coke: what is the French's favorite summer cocktail?

Big news, it's official, we know the French's favorite cocktail for the summer holidays . According to the Nielsen IQ agency, the mojito , the kir and the Cuba libre are overtaken by the spritz.
And for once, it didn't go through the usual survey, where respondents, to give themselves a sense of style, answer something other than their favorite cocktail. You know, when you're asked the question, and to sound cool, you say a complex, sophisticated drink, when in reality, a whiskey and coke would suit you
No, here, Nielsen IQ looked at sales of cocktails made in 5,000 bars, cafes and restaurants across France to award the title to the Spritz.
In detail, we find the spritz in the lead with 24.2% of the turnover generated by cocktails in France.
Behind this, we find the mojito with 18.2% market share, then the Kir with 10.5% of turnover.
Which is in contradiction with the results of the polls, which place the mojito in front, with 40% of responses, then the Pina colada and Sex on the beach.
Why lie? Why pretend we like complicated cocktails with flowery names? When in fact, a good mix of Aperol, Prosecco, and sparkling water will satisfy everyone.
Speaking of snobbery, the fastest growing cocktail is the Spritz Saint-Germain, a drink where aperol has simply been replaced by elderflower liqueur, with an average price of 10.60 euros compared to 9 euros for the standard spritz.
And this Parisian cocktail, despite a higher price, is gaining market share.
And there are regional differences between Paris and the rest of France in particular. Everywhere except Paris, the mojito competes neck and neck with the spritz. The difference is much less marked than with the capital.
This mint and lemon cocktail remains popular in the South and West of France. Enjoyed, but always to be enjoyed in moderation.
