Orly Airport: Air traffic control failure, 40% of flights cancelled

Orly Airport: Air traffic control failure, 40% of flights cancelled

Panic in the skies. The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) has called on airlines to cancel 40% of their flights at Paris-Orly Airport until the end of the day.

"Following a breakdown in the air traffic control systems at the Orly tower early in the afternoon of Sunday, May 18, 2025, air traffic control has been imposed, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of flights," the DGAC said. The DGAC has not yet provided details on whether traffic will still be disrupted on Monday.

Paris-Orly Airport saw more than 33 million passengers pass through in 2024, half the number of passengers at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, according to figures published by Aéroports de Paris (ADP).
