Ornans. Rare, unusual, historic: second-hand dealers' favorite items

It's one of the most charming summer sales in the department: the Ornans professional flea market continues this Sunday, in a picturesque setting. This Saturday, just before the downpour, four second-hand dealers, set up shop under the lime trees of Place Courbet, agreed to reveal their favorites. They share their stories with us about unique objects.
It's a large sheet metal plaque, two meters by 80 cm, on which we can read "Pernod fils." "An advertising plaque for absinthe that was placed against houses or in drinking establishments," explains Gauthier du Grenier comtois. A plaque that is "very rare, and over 110 years old," emphasizes the second-hand dealer, since the famous Pontarlier brand produced absinthe until 1915, when production was banned. "...
