Pensions Conclave: "I wouldn't say it's a failure," said Labor Minister Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet

Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet, Minister of Labor and Employment, was a guest on franceinfo on Sunday, June 29.
The week was marked by the end of a pension conclave without an agreement. But what lessons can be learned from this failure? Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet, Minister of Labor and Employment, responds: "I wouldn't say it's a failure. Because even if negotiations are no longer taking place, discussions continue. Failure would have been if there had been no point of agreement. Failure would have been if we had arrived in a more divergent manner now compared to four months ago. There were still some important points of agreement."
The minister then continued: "There is a spirit of responsibility that I hope many people can draw inspiration from, which is to put aside certain issues of discussion, I am thinking in particular of the 64-year-olds, in order to be able to move forward on very concrete things." And Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet qualified her statement: "I am not saying that it is a success. I would indeed have liked there to be an agreement this week."
