The crisis in the clothing sector has claimed another victim. French ready-to-wear brand Jennyfer, catering to 10- to 19-year-olds, will file for liquidation, management announced on Wednesday, April 29. The brand had, however, emerged from receivership less than a year ago, in June 2024.
"The explosion in costs, the decline in purchasing power, changes in the textile market and increasingly aggressive international competition have made its economic model unsustainable," management said.
At the end of March, the French denim brand Kaporal was placed into liquidation by the Marseille Commercial Court, with its operations immediately shutting down. The company then announced the layoff of its 280 employees.
