Royannais region: CM2 pupils learn to take the bus

By SudOuest.fr

The Royan urban area's public transport service, Cara'bus, organizes meetings with schoolchildren before they go to secondary school and before bus journeys.

The "Cara'bus" Fairy, as she's called, is raising awareness among schoolchildren in the Royan region about bus travel. This Monday, May 5, this fairy is scheduled to visit the Chaillevette school to teach the CM2 students how to navigate the bus network map and make connections, as well as the right actions to take...

Moving into sixth grade is a significant event for CM2 students, as they learn to be more independent. Many of them will take the bus to middle school, sometimes for the first time. This introduction helps familiarize them with the network and alleviate any potential concerns about the unknown. Until June 19, the "Cara'bus" Fairy will lead workshops in around thirty classrooms across the region, training more than 700 students.

These small meetings organized by the bus network operator have already proven effective. This program, which has been in existence for several years, has allowed many children to make their first journeys stress-free.
