Spotify raises its prices in France, becoming the most expensive music streaming platform

Spotify has announced it is increasing the price of its subscriptions by €1 to €3 per month, depending on the plan. This decision makes the platform the most expensive on the market, costing just over €12.14 for an individual subscription.

This new rate must be applied from the July billing date, the platform specifies on its official website .

A price increase had already been announced for 2024 and presented as a way to resist the funding tax of the National Music Center. This time, the platform is justifying itself by explaining that it wants to "continue to innovate in our product offerings and features, and to offer you the best experience."

In comparison, the French platform Deezer is a little less expensive, with 11.99 euros and more than 120 million tracks available.

Among the cheapest are Amazon Music Unlimited and Apple Music, which are the only ones to remain below the symbolic bar of 11 euros.

In both cases, you have to pay €10.99 per month to enjoy unlimited titles. But Apple offers nearly 150 million titles, compared to 100 million on Amazon.

With a monthly subscription costing €5.99, Apple Music and Deezer are the two cheapest streaming platforms for students.

The price range expands when you want to subscribe several users, especially within the same family.

Once again, Apple Music remains the cheapest at 16.99 euros per month for six accesses.

Just behind is Amazon, which offers €17.99 per month for six users. Deezer costs €19.99. Spotify, meanwhile, is still the most expensive, peaking at €21.24.
