I subscribeOn the banks of the Charente River in Jarnac (Charente), the imposing limestone walls of the Hine cognac house conceal the oak barrels that age the wine spirits for which the region is renowned. But since October 2024, the activity of this winery, founded in 1763, has largely ceased. The storage space is overflowing with dozens of pallets of spirits looking for a carrier to ship them to China.
