1 in 3 adults affected by hypertension: how do you know if you have it?

1 in 3 adults affected by hypertension: how do you know if you have it?
In France, nearly one in three adults is affected by high blood pressure. That's around 17 million people. Yet, this problem remains largely underestimated. Only half of them are screened, and among them, only a quarter are receiving effective treatment. The good news is that diagnosis is simple, and there are more than 60 effective and well-tolerated treatments to control it. So, why this gap between solutions and reality? How do you know if you have high blood pressure? Can you trust connected devices to measure your blood pressure? What are the causes and possible treatments, and above all, how can you live peacefully with this condition?

To answer all these questions, Margaux de Frouville and Alain Ducardonnet welcome Jean-Jacques Mourad, professor of internal medicine at the Franco-British hospital and specialist in hypertension.
