Bar-le-Duc. South Meuse Health Center: Its Defenders Take to the Streets

At the call of the UNSA and CFDT unions, half a thousand people mobilized this Wednesday, May 14, to affirm their attachment to the Bar-le-Duc/Fains-Véel hospital and the Parc polyclinic. The origin of this gathering was the fear of the weakening of these two healthcare facilities.

Dr. Pierre Renard, a surgeon at the Parc Polyclinic and president of the establishment's medical committee, would never have imagined marching in the street behind a protest banner.

Yet, this Wednesday, like some 500 other people, he was there, determined to let the Minister of Health, the Regional Health Agency (ARS), and also the management of the territorial hospital group know that the South Meuse health center has its place in the landscape of medical care in the Meuse.
