Buhl. Disability Night will take place this Saturday.

Buhl. Disability Night will take place this Saturday.

Created on the model of the Fête de la Musique, the Buhl Disability Night has been held every year since 2018. Join us this Saturday, June 14, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., on the Place du Marché for this public event.

"Eight years ago, Buhl was the smallest town in France to participate in Disability Night. Since then, it has been the first to join the youth municipal council. We must continue to spread the word to raise awareness about disability. Our mission is essential," notes Mayor Yves Coquelle.

Across France, this Saturday, June 14, 43 cities in mainland France and overseas will be involved. This was originally 17 in 2018. Alain Nussbaumer, director of Rimlishof, and Ève Rudolph, national coordinator, along with partner associations, the mayor, his deputy, the municipal youth council, and after-school activity leaders make up the team of volunteers working to prepare this festive event, which is free and open to all.

Alain Nussbaumer and Ève Rudolph recall that an association was created after the first Night, in 2018, with the aim of bringing people together around the festival and a moment of sharing at the initiative of people with disabilities.

It's also an opportunity to create lasting connections. As proof, the youth council of the city of Charleville-Mézières, which participated in 2024, has been put in touch with the youth of Buhl. Comedian Jérémy Ferrari will support the Night of the Disabled. "It's a great time for the children to share," comments deputy mayor Marilène Pizzulo.

Representatives of the partner associations have announced a host of activities for this new edition: magic trick workshops, adapted gaming, bike-bus rides, exhibitions, sports trails, shows, dances, music, singing and video projections.

A festive aperitif will open the event at 7 p.m. and a luminous finale will conclude it at 10:30 p.m. All participants are invited to bring a small light, a shiny object, a garland, a bracelet, or an LED candle.

Please note that the Buhl Disability Night is actively seeking volunteers. It is also possible to make a tax-deductible donation. For more information, call 06 51 76 00 26.
