Does urinating after sex prevent pregnancy?

Does urinating after sex prevent pregnancy?

There are several reasons for this. Immediately after ejaculation, about 65% of sperm begin to migrate toward the cervix. By the time you stand up, the fastest sperm will have made their way through your cervix.

Also remember that semen is released into the vaginal canal. Urine is expelled through the urethra. These are two separate "tubes."

Avoid urinary tract infections

Urinating after sex does have one benefit: it helps prevent the risk of urinary tract infections. Sexual intercourse can actually promote cystitis, due to the close proximity of the genital and urinary tracts, especially if intercourse is frequent or if there is alternating anal and vaginal penetration. Therefore, it is best to urinate after each act of intercourse to eliminate germs.
