On Thursday, May 15, a blood drive is being organized at the Pierre-Jacques center in Fontaine-lès-Dijon. To carry out this vital operation, given the great need, around fifteen volunteers will once again be hard at work. Among them, Christiane Champy, a 65-year-old retiree, is showing off her stripes, having joined the association a few months ago. "It happened a bit by chance," she admits. "I gave blood for the first time 30 years ago, here in Fontaine, because I saw a poster in the town. But it didn't go very well," she admits. "I felt bad after donating, and as a result, it really put me off, and I didn't give again... until last year."

Indeed, made aware of some health concerns in her family circle and faced with the urgent need for blood, Christiane wanted to try again: "In the end, it went really well! And since I was retired, I offered my services to the president who welcomed me with great pleasure," recalls the new volunteer. During each collection, she prepares the donors' snacks as well as the room and tries to put the donors at ease and build their loyalty.

Blood drive Thursday, May 15, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Pierre Jacques center in Fontaine-lès-Dijon.
