Lenval employees will gather in front of the children's hospital in Nice: yet another movement in a war with the CHU

We're taking the same old steps and starting again. The FO, CFE-CGC, and CFTC unions have issued a call for a rally for the staff of the Lenval Foundation. Employees are invited to gather in front of the establishment from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Their demands are still the same - since this will be the fifth movement which "follows a series of management decisions taken without real dialogue with staff representatives, and a persistent deterioration in working conditions, denounced for several months by the teams , states the press release published on Wednesday, June 18. The suffering of employees is real, and it directly impacts the care of children. This situation has been reported on numerous occasions, without any concrete responses being provided."
Without the CFDT, which is in the majorityThe conflict is much deeper and is partly taking place through the press, with both sides attacking each other through press releases.
Politicians are also getting involved, with UDR MP Eric Ciotti boasting of having alerted the Minister of Health (who contacted the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs - Igas) when a week later Christian Estrosi said that he was the one behind it.
In his communication of June 17, the latter recalled his functions: "mayor of Nice, president of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis, delegated president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region" without however mentioning that he is also president of the supervisory board of the Nice University Hospital.
On the union side: the same confusion. The CFDT (French Confederation of Trade Unions) is the majority union within the Foundation but has opposed those who have been calling for a rally since the beginning.
There is therefore a great deal of disagreement, misunderstanding, and even misunderstanding among the various stakeholders in the case: from management to unions to elected officials, each seeking to assert their position. But one thing "unites" them: they all claim to be acting for the good of staff and patients.
