  • In one of the rooms of the Val de Seille nursing home in Marly, the notes of… “Ainsi font font font” resonate. On Wednesday, June 4, Éline, Gaspard, Effi, and the three other little ones from the Early Childhood Center (RPE), aged 1 to 5, had to be put in their element. And that’s not to displease Marguerite, one of the residents, who knows “all the nursery rhymes by heart.” Photo Karim Siari

  • For the past few months, young people from the Lacé association's Early Childhood Center have been regularly coming to the Val de Seille nursing home as neighbors. They only have to cross the garden to meet Georgette, Marguerite, Gisèle, and other seniors, always ready to sing a little rhyme, draw, and have a laugh! Photo by Karim Siari
  • Gaspard, 2, takes things very seriously. Kneeling on his little chair, so he's at eye level with the residents, he complies. Marguerite wanted a flower. She'll get a sumptuous one with a double portion of diamonds of every color. Photo by Karim Siari
  • With their spontaneity, children ask far fewer questions than the adults who sometimes surround seniors. The atmosphere is warm from the very beginning. Photo by Karim Siari
  • For Valérie and Yolande, care assistants at the nursing home, there's no doubt: these meetings have nothing but benefits.

Several times a month, the children from the Early Childhood Relay (for childminders) of the Lacé de Marly association come to visit the elderly at the Val de Seille nursing home . They don't have far to go: they're little neighbors since the RPE has moved into the same building as the nursing home. A first in Moselle. Sometimes they garden, they go for walks or listen to music. On Wednesday, June 4, young people and those a little less young drew, colored, and stuck on stickers. Gisèle, mother of 5 children, who gave her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, loves it: "I'm not very good at drawing, but being with the children is so enjoyable. It makes me feel like a kid again. Every time they come, I come, except when I have to go to the physiotherapist."
