The Sainte-Maxime health center lifts the veil on its projects

The Sainte-Maxime health center lifts the veil on its projects

Good news for the people of Le Maxime: the city of Préconil has a new association dedicated to the well-being and health of its residents.

Since September, several professionals from the medical world have decided to develop new actions by creating the multi-professional health center (MSP).

First, this new organization aims to bring together practitioners in the municipality. For his part, Dr. Didier Beaurain has volunteered to become the project's president.

In this mission, he will be supported daily by pharmacist Céline Rouquier, who serves as vice-president. To support them in this adventure, the municipality has made a room available to them at the Maison des Associations.

A first information meeting took place last week. "Its aim was to introduce us and provide information on the projects and the various things we intend to implement," the president commented.

Helping diabetics

The MSP is also " backed " by the Interprofessional Ambulatory Care Society (SISA) association. This allows multi-professional coordinated practice structures, such as an MSP, to collectively receive subsidies within a secure legal and fiscal framework, and these subsidies are intended to remunerate actions carried out jointly.

The association also took advantage of this moment to unveil its first action, which will consist of organizing sports sessions for people with diabetes.

"They are free and taught by Rosa Maxo, who is a coach at the Sainte-Maxime athletics club. Two one-hour sessions are planned, and the participants are referred to us by eligible doctors. The goal, for most of them, is to motivate them to take up sport," explains Céline Rouquier.

A dozen people have already taken part in the first sessions. They were first assessed, and then a medical checkup will be repeated in three months. They will also meet with a dietitian. Engaging in physical activity and combating a sedentary lifestyle are key to treating diabetes.

Currently, this health center has 25 members. "We obviously hope to increase this figure and that our colleagues continue to contact us," continues Dr. Beaurain.

Although all of these professionals know each other, they hardly have the time or the opportunity to meet and talk regularly.

"The creation of this MSP allows us to pool our strengths and knowledge. It's an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas on an ad hoc basis through working meetings. These will be scheduled once a month at the community center," the pharmacist plans.

Composition of the office: Didier Beaurain president, Céline Rouquier vice-president, Yanis Lambrou secretary, Aurélie Feuillas treasurer. Contact: From the coordinator, Sébastien Lecat-Idel (nurse) at the following address: [email protected] Actions: Distribution of vaccination records, sponsorship of a sports club (Sainte-Maxime Athlé), sports activities for diabetics. Membership fee: 20 euros.
