Thionville. At the CHR, dermatology is getting a makeover and new doctors are joining forces

Almost presumed dead just a year ago, the dermatology department at Metz-Thionville University Hospital is undergoing a renaissance. At Bel-Air Hospital, the site has been modernized, new doctors have arrived, and tele-expertise is enabling expanded treatment of severe skin conditions.

At the Metz-Thionville University Hospital, dermatology is getting a makeover, and this should do patients a world of good. In reality, the department has come a long way. Last year, several doctors left the team to practice elsewhere. "We found ourselves with three people to manage the Mercy and Bel-Air sites. From a human perspective, it had become impossible. We alerted the University Hospital, which responded well: the entire department has been redesigned; it's attractive again. We've recruited and are still recruiting. Next November, we'll have six doctors," explains the new head of department, Anne-Laure Liégeon.
