Long Beach, California, Tuesday, June 10. The Augmented World Expo, an annual event dedicated to augmented reality , was well attended. On the main stage, the boss of the social network Snapchat, Evan Spiegel , dressed all in black, parades with a microphone in his hand. Behind him, a presentation traces the different generations of connected glasses produced by his company. All have suffered the same fate, commercial failure , but the 35-year-old man does not mention it, quite the contrary. To the applause and shouts of encouragement from his audience, he prefers to announce with great fanfare the release of a new pair, this time with reality.
