Closed to worship since 1984, the building served as a studio for Fine Arts students until 2007. Since the school moved to the banks of the Saône, the church has been deserted. The building has never had a front porch... The main door is located several meters above the ground. A look back at its history.

Following the increase in the population of the slopes and the workers' revolts of 1831, 1834 and 1848, it became essential for the Church to build a new place of worship, geographically closer to the middle of the slopes.

The parish of Saint-Bruno-les-Chartreux then occupied the entire perimeter from the Cours des Chartreux to the ascent of the Grande Côte. Cardinal de Bonald appointed Mr. Callot to found the new parish of the Good Shepherd. As it was a parish dedicated to silk workers, the Chamber of Commerce agreed to donate 25,000 francs for the construction of this church. In addition to the various open subscriptions, the priest could look for a location.
