Mom of "Okay Baby" Has No Memory of His Death Due to Brain Injury

Mom of "Okay Baby" Has No Memory of His Death Due to Brain Injury
“Okay Baby” TikTok Star Preston Ordone’s Cause of Death Revealed

Katelynn Ordone is reflecting on a devastating moment.

More than two months after her 2-year-old son Preston Ordone—who was known on TikTok as "Okay Baby"—died in a car crash involving her and husband Jaelan Ordone, the matriarch shared an update on her health, revealing that she doesn't "have any memory of the accident" due to her own injury from the incident.

"I [also] don't have any memory of two to three days after the accident," Katelynn shared in a July 3 TikTok video. "I suffered a traumatic brain injury and lost a lot of my memory."

And while she couldn't recall the events of the crash on her own, the 25-year-old—whose 7-year-old daughter Paisley Ordone was not involved in the April incident—has pieced together some details, saying she was able to find her phone in the immediate aftermath of the accident.

"I called 911, first, I was on the phone with them for five minutes," Katelynn shared. "The only reason I know that is because I saw it in my call logs, and then my parents have told me that I called them."

During her phone call with her mom and dad, the content creator—whose Ford truck veered off the road and struck a tree while driving 50 miles north of New Orleans, per police—said she managed to drop a pin for them to find her location but was otherwise "very much in and out of it."

"There was moments that I could talk, there was moments that I was just groaning and moaning in pain," Katelynn said, "and then there was moments of silence where I wasn't talking at all."

However, just before help arrived for her and Jaelan—who also survived the accident—the influencer's dad said she had a moment that has since solidified her faith in God.

"All of a sudden, I recited the Lord's Prayer perfectly on the phone with him," Katelynn explained. "And just so y'all know, after [my dad] told me that, I had to look up the Lord's Prayer. I have heard of it. I recognize it when I hear it, but I did not still do not know it well enough to recite it perfectly."

And while Katelynn confessed that she still has a "long journey to go" when it comes to healing, that moment has helped her cope with the grief of losing Preston, whose cause of death after the accident was determined to be "blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash" with the manner listed as accidental, according to the St. Tammany Parish coroner's office.

"It just has given me hope, and I feel like that hope is only through God," she shared. "Without God, I wouldn't know that I get to see him again."

Katelynn added, "I'm not here to say that that has taken away all the pain that I felt—trust me, I felt every little bit of pain—but God has given me the strength to keep going."

The couple, who are parents to daughter Paisley Ordone, welcomed their son Preston on Dec. 27, 2022.

"We are so excited to take him home," Katelynn wrote on Facebook at the time. "Thank you everyone for y'all's prayers."

The Ordone family celebrated Easter 2025 with a lot of sweets, a day at church and some time in the pool. Katelyn simply captioned the post, "Happy Easter."

Paisley, now 7, has loved having a little brother by her side. While reflecting on Preston's adventurous nature, Katelynn revealed that it was seemingly passed on from his big sister.

"My daughter was just as feral at his age," the mom of 2 quipped on Instagram March 8. "That's why they're 5 years apart but she became a little less feral with age."

In an August 2024 TikTok video, Katelynn gave directions to Preston, telling him, "Give Lovie one minute, OK?" After telling his mom, "OK," the toddler immediately jumped into the pool.

"It's the 'OK' for me every time and he STILL jumps," one user commented. Katelynn agreed that Preston hasn't quite grasped the phrase, captioning the video, "We're still trying to figure out what okay means to him."

Preston loved the pool, but he loved mud even more. For hours, he'd splash in muddy puddles outside their home.

As Katelynn and Jaelan's loved one Carson Matranga explained in their April 27 announcement of his unexpected death, "I know in heaven right now, if there's mud in heaven, he probably has found it and is jumping and dancing in it."

Katelynn would sometimes share "Preston Interviews" on social media, quizzing him on his food and asking questions about himself.

His favorite song? "Baby" by Justin Bieber, which he went on to sing.

Thoughts on the Grinch? He explained, "He's a mean one, Mr. Grinch. I wanna punch the Grinch 'cause he's scary."
