What to do in Lyon this weekend? Top tips from July 11th to 14th

National Day, drone shows, music... For the July 14th weekend, Lyon Capitale has selected the activities not to be missed in the city.

Numerous fireworks displays are being organized in the various cities of the metropolitan area, on the occasion of the Bastille Day this Monday, July 14th. Starting with Lyon, where the traditional fireworks display will be launched on Sunday, July 14th, starting at 10:30 p.m. from Fourvière Hill. Many cities in the metropolitan area will also organize their own fireworks displays. You can admire them in Villeurbanne, Caluire, Décines-Charpieu, Vaulx-en-Velin, Vénissieux, Oullins, Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Saint-Genis-Laval, etc.

Also on the occasion of the National Day this Monday, the traditional military ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on Place Bellecour. A parade of foot troops and an artillery band parade will follow a presentation of decorations. A defense village will also welcome visitors from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and defense vehicles will be on display in the square.
For the very first time, the Bron-Parilly racecourse will host an aerial drone show on Friday, July 11th and Saturday, July 12th. Produced by Fever and already performed in Los Angeles, Miami, and Melbourne, this show features around a hundred drones performing a precisely choreographed choreography in the sky to create luminous patterns: constellations, geometric figures, etc. Two performances, combined with a musical show, will be offered starting at 10:15 p.m. Admission starts at €32.

From Monday, July 7th until the end of the month, the Estivales Lyon Nature offer free outdoor activities to discover biodiversity: ethnobotanical visits, traveling shows, children's workshops, etc. This year, the event offers the chance to rediscover the Tête d'Or park, from its emblematic past to its current and future challenges.

From Saturday, July 12th to Monday, July 14th, the Fêtes Escales festival will once again take place at Louis-Dupic Park in Vénissieux, in the Lyon metropolitan area. This music festival showcases world and urban music. Rapper Carbone will be performing on Saturday. Lyon-based band An'Pagay will open the July 13th event. A youth concert will be offered on Monday. Commandant Coustou will be the final act on stage. The festival is free.
