"In two years (...) in ten years": Emmanuel Macron assures the Young People on the Move that he needs them
A surprise guest at a rally in Paris to mark the tenth anniversary of "Youth with Macron," now known as "Youth on the Move," Emmanuel Macron assured those gathered that he would need them in the coming years.

Emmanuel Macron, a surprise guest at a meeting in Paris to mark the tenth anniversary of "Young People with Macron," stated on Saturday, July 5, that he would "need them in two years, in five years, in ten years."

"Because you will be there, and because you can count on me, I will be there with you. And together, we will not give up (...) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the ten years ahead of us," he continued to the applause of those who supported his beginnings since 2015, and announced that he would rename himself "Jeunes en marche."

The President of the Republic had previously called on his camp to remain "united", "responsible" and to act.

"If in the next two years we spend our time talking about 2027, doing nothing, being in the calculations, being in the divisions, it will be none of us in two years," he said.

The head of state spoke after his former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, who had said he wanted to "propose a path" to the French for 2027 .

The two men have been notoriously at odds since Gabriel Attal's move to Matignon and the announcement of the dissolution, on which the former Prime Minister had not been consulted.

The President of the Republic cannot run again in 2027 due to the Constitution, but nothing prevents him from being a candidate in 2032. Above all, at a time when ambitions are growing within the government coalition, with Edouard Philippe already campaigning , and LR presidents Bruno Retailleau and Gabriel Attal in the running, Emmanuel Macron wanted to remind everyone that the next two years must be "useful".

"I hear too many debates today that are already thinking about 2027. We'll have to think about it. But why did you stand up in 2015? (...) For the country," the president continued.
