Unlike Donald Trump, Emmanuel Macron was not warned by Benjamin Netanyahu , with whom relations are strained, of the raid that Israel was preparing to launch against Iran . But on Friday morning, following a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council held at the Élysée Palace with the relevant ministers and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, he "reaffirmed Israel's right to protect itself and ensure its security," and recalled having "several times condemned" the Iranian nuclear program.

After a day on the phone with the main players in the region, starting with Netanyahu and Trump, as well as the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the King of Jordan, the Egyptian, Lebanese and other presidents, and his European partners, the head of state, during a press briefing at the palace, resolutely pointed out the "heavy responsibility" of the mullahs' regime in "the destabilization of the entire region."
