Armies. The July 14 parade begins on the Champs-Élysées, with Indonesia in the spotlight.

The July 14th festivities began this Monday at 10 a.m. on the Champs-Élysées, amidst the upheavals following Emmanuel Macron's grave speech to the armed forces.
It's parade time. Emmanuel Macron reviewed the troops at 10 a.m. on Monday before the military procession set off down the Champs-Élysées for Bastille Day 2025. This year's event reflects the seriousness of the threats to the continent's security.
The Patrouille de France's aerial parade departed at 10:30 a.m. A total of 7,000 people formed the procession on foot, on horseback, or in motorized vehicles, both on land and in the air. Indonesia was the honored nation for this new edition and led the parade on foot.

At the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, the Head of State previously presented the President of the Flame Committee, on the occasion of its centenary, with a sword used to rekindle the flame of the Unknown Soldier every evening, representing the French soldiers who fell in combat.
Cornflowers were then placed on the tomb of the unknown soldier, marking the centenary of the Bleuet de France, an institution created in 1925 to work in solidarity with the fighting world by distributing fabric cornflowers.
The parade in numbers

The July 14 celebrations also led to 176 arrests in Paris and its surrounding areas on the night of Sunday to Monday, during episodes of urban violence and mortar fire, police chief Laurent Nuñez said on Monday.
Security measures will remain in place until Tuesday, including security measures for the fireworks display in Paris on Monday evening, which, according to Laurent Nuñez, is expected to attract tens of thousands of people.
