Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: The Ecologists offer a trip to Laurent Wauquiez… to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon

Following Laurent Wauquiez's (LR) proposal to send foreigners subject to an OQTF to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, the Ecologists of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region considered that it was "better to laugh than to cry."
Then a candidate for the presidency of the Republicans, Laurent Wauquiez had formulated last April a proposal deemed outrageous by a part of the political class: sending foreigners subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. "We considered at the time that faced with the absurdity and demagogy of such a proposal, it was better to laugh than to cry," wrote this Wednesday in a press release from the ecologist elected representatives of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and associations such as Cimade.
With malice, they then launched a kitty to offer a trip to the former regional president... to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. A symbolic operation since the donations were primarily intended for La Cimade "which has worked tirelessly for decades to respect the rights of foreigners," they still indicate.
Two months later, and after having raised 3,500 euros, the Green regional councillors Fabienne Grébert and Benjamin Joyeux, Martine Faure-Saint-Aman, President of Cimade Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and Montazer Khalil, Sudanese refugee, will therefore hand over their kitty to La Cimade on June 18 at 6 p.m. at ConfluTime, Esplanade François Mitterrand, opposite the Regional Hotel (2nd arr.).
