Brazil: Judge orders house arrest for former President Bolsonaro

The former Brazilian head of state is accused of failing to comply with a ban on social media posts linked to his trial for attempted coup d'état.
A Brazilian Supreme Court judge on Monday ordered the house arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro for violating a ban on social media posts related to his trial for attempted coup.
In a judicial document consulted, Judge Alexandre de Moraes denounced a "repeated failure to comply with the measures imposed" on the former far-right president. The reason, according to the magistrate, was Bolsonaro's interventions relayed by his camp on social media during demonstrations across the country on Sunday.
