By-election in Paris: Reconquête launches a candidate in the race, Renaissance and LFI absent

He joins the three personalities already in the running for this seat of deputy in this constituency straddling the 5th, 6th and 7th arrondissements: Michel Barnier for Les Républicains (LR), the RN Thierry Mariani and the socialist Frédérique Bredin, invested by the PS and supported by the Ecologists.
"I have decided to nominate Hilaire Bouyé, president of @GenZemmour, for the partial legislative elections of September 21 and 28," the president of Reconquête posted on X, confirming information from Paris Match. "Faced with LR, allies of Macron's party, and the left, he will embody the ideas of Reconquête, those of a right concerned about our economic freedom and our security," continued Eric Zemmour.
Why Renaissance and LFI are ignoring each otherThe election of incumbent MP Jean Laussucq was invalidated by the Constitutional Council on July 11 due to irregularities in his campaign accounts. His Renaissance party announced Friday that it would not nominate a candidate, wishing to "avoid adding confusion to an unprecedented national political situation."
La France Insoumise also announced in a press release on Friday that it would not be running in this constituency, "as provided for in the 2024 NFP (New Popular Front) agreement."
On the right, Culture Minister Rachida Dati withdrew her candidacy to leave the field open to former Prime Minister Michel Barnier, while officially being nominated as the Republicans' candidate for mayor of Paris.
