Editorial: Become a French teacher in twenty minutes flat!

You have to be disruptive. That's the way the times are. Take a step back, think outside the box, innovate. The rector of the Dijon academy has just won the prize in this regard. Faced with a shortage of literature students, he had this brilliant idea: offer other teachers the chance to become French teachers in 20 minutes flat. Brilliant. Candidates—mathematicians, athletes, musicians—will simply have to submit to a few simple formalities: a cover letter and a confirmation interview. If the applicant passes this challenge, they will have the honor and the advantage of obtaining a certificate allowing them to teach French in middle and high schools. Gosh, that's selective! Much more so than the CAPES (Capes) or the agrégation (aggregation): a real competitive exam, it's so overrated...
Of course, the teachers' unions, those grumblers, find fault with this audacious idea. They're getting carried away and denouncing cheap teachers who are trained in a hurry. This isn't fundamentally wrong, but you have to know what you want: is it necessary to have a real teacher in front of students, or will an average adult do the job in these times of scarcity? The rector of Dijon shamelessly ticked the second answer.
Thanks to this stroke of genius, France—yes, ladies and gentlemen, France!—will be better off in the future. Because the instant teacher model deserves to be duplicated in other sectors. Not enough doctors in the countryside? No problem, in 20 minutes, if you know where the liver and Achilles' heel are, you can practice this noble profession. Are there a shortage of magistrates? What the hell, do you have two cents of common sense? The robe and the ermine are yours. You're not prone to vertigo? Become an airline pilot, of course. Sign here at the bottom right. No more budgetary problems, no more medical deserts, and all that. A career and honors are ours: fifteen minutes to become a rector and tomorrow... a Minister, or even President?
