Eight out of ten French people think that Macronism will not survive after the 2027 presidential election
While 37% of those surveyed said they voted for the head of state in the first round of 2017 and/or 2022, only 26% now believe in the sustainability of Macronism.

Eight out of ten French people believe that Macronism will not survive after the next presidential election in 2027, and 82% believe that the political project championed by Emmanuel Macron since 2017 is rather a failure, according to an Odoxa - Backbone Consulting poll for Le Figaro published this Friday, May 30. For 59% of French people, Macronism is not a current of political thought.

While 37% of those surveyed said they voted for the head of state in the first round of 2017 and/or 2022, only 26% now believe in the sustainability of Macronism.

82% of French people also believe that the political project championed by Emmanuel Macron since 2017 is a failure. This sentiment is even shared by 63% of those who voted for him in the first round in 2017 or 2022.

Furthermore, only 17% of those who voted for the head of state in the first round in 2017 or 2022 are considering voting for him again in the first round of a future presidential election if he could run again. Renaissance supporters are the only ones to consider this vote in the majority (70%).

The future of Macronism also faces the absence of a successor in the presidential camp.

Two representatives from Macron's left wing came out on top, but far short of a majority: Gabriel Attal (45%) and Elisabeth Borne (35%). They were followed by Édouard Philippe (31%), Gérald Darmanin (27%), and Yaël Braun-Pivet (22%).

Survey conducted on May 28 and 29, 2025, among a sample of 1,005 French people representative of the French population aged 18 and over, interviewed online using the quota method. Margin of error between 1.4 and 3.1.
