Four months later, the Socialist Party (PS) deputies are back in business. Noting the failure of negotiations between the unions and employers' organizations meeting in conclave to reform the pension system, the Assembly's members will submit a new motion of censure, four months after their last activation of Article 49 of the Constitution.
To justify this appeal, the leader of the Socialist deputies, Boris Vallaud, cited the Prime Minister's refusal to commit to presenting to Parliament a text that would allow for debate on the retirement age of 64. "You have made commitments on this subject that have not been kept [...] This forces us, Mr. Prime Minister, to file a motion of censure against your government," Boris Vallaud declared during questions to the government.
