French Army: An announcement that matches the threat?

Emmanuel Macron addressed the armed forces on Sunday, July 13. He primarily announced a new budget of more than 6 billion euros.
On the eve of July 14, faced with worsening threats on European soil, in the Middle East, and in France against terrorism, Emmanuel Macron's speech to the armed forces on Sunday, July 13, was highly anticipated. "Never since 1945 has freedom been so threatened and never to this extent," declared the head of state. A turning point for him, who announced an additional envelope of 6.5 billion euros for the next two years.
From 50 billion euros today, the Defense budget was originally supposed to increase to 56.9 billion euros in 2027, it will finally be 63.4 billion euros, a necessary effort according to Emmanuel Macron. "To be free in this world, you must be feared. To be feared, you must be powerful," he affirmed. To strengthen French military action on the ground, the head of the Armed Forces is calling for an increase in stocks of munitions, surface-to-air missiles, and drones. In the coming months, he will make announcements on military service and nuclear deterrence.
