In Six-Fours, Jean-Sébastien Vialatte is a candidate for a "Local Climate Plan" in the municipal elections.

It was an open secret. But, by inaugurating his campaign office this Saturday morning at 90, rue de la République, Jean-Sébastien Vialatte left no doubt about his candidacy in the municipal elections of Six-Fours, on March 15 and 22.
At 75, the outgoing mayor, who had declared a few years ago that, past this age, it was wise to step down, finally feels fit enough to run for a sixth term.
Some observers say that his decision is partly dictated by "the fear of seeing the city he has led since 1995 fall to the National Rally." That, faced with this "risk," with each election increasing, a designated successor would probably not have as much weight as this "well-known and reassuring local figure."
“Come meet us, discuss, analyze”So this Saturday morning, in the city center, in front of some 200 supporters and under the slogan "The City that Wins" hanging above the window, he left no doubt, preferring to convey confidence: "I'm not here to deliver a program to you, we have 6 months for that... But to inaugurate this premises, which is an open door for you to come and see us, so that we can exchange, analyze the last mandate, see what we could have done better..."
The candidate for his succession nevertheless quickly mentioned a "good record" : "We have done a lot in terms of safety, health, environment..."
"But we are not elected on a record," he stopped. "What I am proposing is to build a mandate for the next 20 years. A project that responds to the problems we are facing today, and which are growing in scale: I am obviously thinking of climate change. I therefore propose to build a Local Climate Plan to combat global warming. We must take social measures so that the most disadvantaged people do not face it alone; take environmental measures, by planting even more trees, creating parks and cool spots with greenery, misting systems... Continue to de-impermeabilize the soil, further develop soft modes of transport, improve public transport..." , he revealed in broad outline .
“Preserve our bubble of tranquility”"Not [just] one more mandate, " he insisted, " but a useful mandate, to put the city in line with the challenges to come, for the future generation."
After promising a list that would include young people, he made a digression on culture. "In the complicated world we live in, we want to continue to offer you a large amount of entertainment to escape the ambient gloom, through classical music, jazz or electro, through theater, cinema, exhibitions, associations..."
"I think that in Six-Fours, we live in a bubble of tranquility... which must be preserved," concluded Jean-Sébastien Vialatte.
