In the shoes of the mayor of… Paris XVIII, coming face to face with Keanu Reeves: “A moment out of time”

In the fall of 2021, as France was just emerging from lockdown, Éric Lejoindre visited the first major film shoot to be hosted in Montmartre: "John Wick: Chapter 4." His encounter with the star summed up, in his own way, the role of the chosen one: "the unexpected."
By Alexis BissonThe mayor remains the French people's favorite local elected official, the one they identify with, the one they turn to in times of difficulty. Invested, under pressure, and mistreated... mayors perform a role that is becoming less and less appealing, as the mission has become so difficult. Nine months before the next municipal elections , we're meeting them so they can share their thoughts on a significant and memorable event during their term.
They are the nightmare of tourists and Parisians determined to reach the forecourt of the Sacré-Cœur on a hot day in the capital . The 222 or so steps of rue Foyatier (18th arrondissement) will also have given Keanu Reeves (and his stuntmen) cold sweats, forced to climb them tirelessly in the face of the assault of heavily armed men in black, before falling and then climbing back up, like Sisyphus. Nearly 800 steps descended in total, even the die-hard fans of the John Wick saga counted, many of whom consider this (very) long action scene as the most "iconic" of the adventures of the former hitman.
