Jean-Jacques Guitard is a candidate for the municipal elections in Beausoleil in 2026, on one condition...

With less than a year to go until the municipal elections, political intentions are gradually being revealed in Beausoleil.

Last April, opposition MP Stéphane Manfredi (RN) confirmed the commitment to this election of a list "Let's be proud of Beausoleil", without however specifying whether he would be the leader.

Then, a few weeks later, it was Nicolas Spinelli – in political rupture with his mayor and father, Gérard Spinelli – who announced his candidacy in our columns.

This Wednesday, June 18, through an open letter to the residents of Beausoleil, it was the turn of Jean-Jacques Guitard, 65, to reveal his ambition and vision for the commune bordering the Principality, to which he intends to restore "its pride, its security and its unity", and to implicitly demolish the current municipal team.

"I firmly oppose the repetition of mandates, a source of abuse of power, cronyism and special privileges. This democracy, often misguided, is confiscated by a few. You can take it back!" Jean-Jacques Guitard immediately urges them.

Second on Patricia Gotrand's miscellaneous right-wing list in 2008 (6.78% in the first round), this convinced sovereignist (*) had coveted the mayor's seat in 2014 by presenting a far-right list (Rassemblement Bleu Marine/Front National) against that of Gérard Spinelli.

Losing in the second round (29.68%), Jean-Jacques Guitard nevertheless won 5 opposition seats on the municipal council, before internal dissensions fractured his group, and a seat on the Carf community council.

In the event of non-election, he will refuse to sit by opposing

Free from any political party or coalition – after having joined several since 2012: Sovereignty, Identity and Liberties (SIEL), of which he is a founding member; RBM/FN; Ligue du Sud; then Reconquête until the end of 2024 – Jean-Jacques Guitard is making his candidacy conditional on obtaining 1,200 signatures on a petition that will be launched by mid-October.

An associated questionnaire will allow him to gather the aspirations of residents for the next six years. "Without this support, I will not run in 2026 because my approach depends on you," promises the man whose motto is "With you, for Beausoleil!"

If he is not elected to the mayoralty, and therefore without the power to influence municipal policy, he will refuse to sit as a simple opponent. "I will then resign because my only ambition is to lead the next municipal policy of Beausoleil with my convictions, my experience and my determination," he indicates.

A single mandate

On the contrary, if he succeeds Gérard Spinelli, he undertakes to serve only one term and to form a "united majority", far from "internal divisions and quarrels", and guarantees that the opposition "will have its place in the council and in the commissions to defend [its] interests in a spirit of dialogue" .

Above all, he promises that, in the first three years, four of the ten priorities of his program must be achieved. Jean-Jacques Guitard only reveals two aspects of this in his letter to residents, the rest to be shaped with the voters: "uncompromising security, 24 hours a day" and a section on "housing and tourism" .

"It's a solemn pact: to restore trust, protect our citizens, and restore Beausoleil to its former glory. If this goal is not achieved, I will be held accountable. If these priorities are not met, I promise to resign," he further promised.

*He defends "a civilizational, sovereignist, conservative and social right."
