Live. Israeli strikes on Iran: the region threatens to erupt, Macron convenes a defense council at the Élysée Palace

The Israeli military said Friday that its fighter jets had struck "dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in different regions of Iran."
Israel announced Friday that it had struck Iran's military and nuclear sites and promised to continue its military operation "to eliminate this threat." The strikes hit several areas in Iran, including the capital Tehran and the Natanz uranium enrichment plant .
Iran retaliated with at least 100 drones, and Tehran says the Israeli strikes themselves justify its desire to enrich uranium. The Israeli military operation will last "as many days as necessary," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says.
