Mandelieu Mayor Sébastien Leroy makes his political comeback, criticizing the government and presenting his priorities for the city.

Between criticizing the government, defending local finances, and presenting structural projects, Sébastien Leroy outlined the main points of his political return to the city on Thursday evening at the Château de La Napoule, in front of more than 1,500 people. Under the gaze of elected officials from the Cannes area, he denounced "the technocracy and the multitude of standards that are paralyzing France."

Among the points raised was the SRU law, which requires Mandelieu to create 2,500 social housing units: "Paris is demanding an illusory urbanization, four times greater than that achieved since the Second World War, without taking into account the risks of flooding and fire."

He also denounced the loss of "15 million euros per year" from the municipal budget collected by the State, recalling that the City continues despite everything to invest "25 million per year", with a financial rating of "3A" awarded by the organization Local Nova.

On the subject of security, the mayor returned to the tribute ceremony for Chief Warrant Officer Eric Comyn, killed in service in 2024, calling for "an awakening of the consciences of legislators in the face of the impunity of offenders" .

He confirmed the strengthening of the video surveillance plan, with 500 cameras planned by the end of the year. He also provided an update and outlook for Mandelieu's key projects. These include the completion of work on the Grand Capitou, the launch of the seafront development with the creation of a free multi-storey car park, and the continuation of flood control projects.

Following the delivery of the second phase of the Théoulière, the passage under the motorway now capable of increasing hydraulic capacity fivefold, he announced the continuation of the Barnières retention basin (350,000m³, the equivalent of 140 Olympic swimming pools), having received a favourable opinion from the investigating commissioner.
