Meurthe-et-Moselle. Economy, culture, society: these personalities who will be back at school

The coming year 2025-2026 will once again be heavily marked by politics, particularly the municipal elections. But in the rest of society, things will be moving. Personalities from all sectors of the department will also be returning to school. A brief overview, but not exhaustive.

Charly Lalo "continues to be committed to the region"
Economy and innovation are pillars of the economy in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
The 1st In September, a new entrepreneur will join the department's large family of leaders. And he's no stranger.
After spending several years as general manager of Lorr'up, the economic development agency for southern Lorraine, which is now managed by Loïc Vautrin, Charly Lalo is launching its first business this fall.
And not just any agency: an agency specializing in digital creation.
Special effectsNamed CKeigo, his agency, totally independent, and based in Nancy , is not there to "make classic videos." Charly Lalo wants to "make an impression," he confides to The Republican East .
To celebrate this birth, the new boss has come up with a rather daring pilot project called Mission Keigoborg, which is none other than a short science fiction film.
The production, made of 3D animation and ingenious special effects, can be seen on the YouTube channel , on the already open CKeigo page. With his project, the manager wishes to set up skills sponsorship and help NGOs.
EngagedWith the Lorr'up agency, Charly Lalo was making progress for the region. Here, he is making a big personal bet, even if the region is never far away. In recent weeks, he has also been credited with political ambitions, such as the municipal elections in Nancy or the elections in the chamber of commerce.
"I'm embarking on a new project, but I will continue to be committed to the region in many ways," he says.

Security, economy: the priorities of Yves Séguy, new prefect
After the Vosges and Saône-et-Loire, Prefect Yves Séguy will be retiring as a senior civil servant and representative of the State in the department at the end of this month, on August 25. He replaces Françoise Souliman, who announced her departure in July.
In the Vosges, Yves Séguy had to manage the coronavirus epidemic, fuel shortages, the reception of Ukrainian refugees and the Vittel water file with Nestlé Waters.
In Nancy, and throughout Meurthe-et-Moselle, two issues will be the new prefect's priority: security and the economy.
Over the past two years, Françoise Souliman had communicated a lot on the fight against drugs, by assuring that this was one of his major battles. Today, trafficking does not seem to be decreasing, as is the case almost everywhere in France and Europe. Yves Séguy will therefore undoubtedly have to draw up a roadmap by mobilizing the police.
The economy will also have to be a central concern for the state. Françoise Souliman has been closely monitoring developments in the department's major industrial companies. The current situation is not catastrophic, but it remains fragile. According to economic stakeholders, the state is not always sending the right signals.

League objective set for the ambitious duo of presidents of FC Toul
In the 1990s and 2000s, FC Toul was the leading team in amateur football in Lorraine. The decline was brutal, with the flagship team now stagnating in the first district division.
But hopes for a new ambition are emerging with the arrival of a duo of presidents at its helm. With an ambitious sporting project to revitalize the club, Raphaël Morano and Victor Pardasseea intend to give it the means to regain its former glory.
This is causing some teeth to grind in neighbouring clubs, with some of their key players responding favourably to the Toul sirens.
"Pascal Trusch and Angelo Morano saved the club when it was under threat. Now we want to give it new impetus with this shared desire to create a club that is structured at all levels, both sporting and administrative, and that welcomes young people from Toul. To make it a football club as we would like it to be," assure the new leaders.
"Our goal is to get the first team back up to league level as quickly as possible, starting next season if possible," they clearly state, announcing that they have the necessary financial means to achieve this.
A five-year projectThe coaching staff has been strengthened with the arrival of Richard Morville, "renowned for his expertise and ambition." In terms of reinforcements, the summer transfer window also appears to be living up to the stated ambitions.
"Our aim was to maintain the core of last season's team, while strengthening it with players targeted by the new coach."
But the club's reconstruction goes beyond the mere performance of its first team. A five-year plan aims to restore the club's image and restructure the training program. The long-term objectives: "To double the number of players and obtain the FFF Youth Label, in order to prevent the best young players from fleeing to other, more successful clubs. Beyond results, the priority will also be to improve behavior on and around the field."

Yves Colombain, the new voice of Nancy Jazz Pulsations
In a good month and a half, a huge page will turn at Nancy Jazz Pulsations.
Indeed, after years of a fine presidency led by Claude-Jean Antoine between 2007 and 2025, and tensions linked to the departure of the former director, The festival will start on October 4th with a new president: Yves Colombain.
In Nancy and Meurthe-et-Moselle, this director of the MJC (Lillebonne in Nancy) is well-known in the community and artistic world. It is his spirit that he will now share with the festival's general public.
The 2025 edition of the NJP is, on paper, a thing of beauty. And without a doubt, fans and amateurs will respond.
Yves Colombain arrive at a complicated time in history for French and European festivals. Funding is increasingly tight, and artists' fees are increasingly high. Audiences continue to love these musical gatherings, but their future is threatened.
Yves Colombain's personality could help her face these new challenges. In any case, with him, Nancy can hope to bring a new voice.

Maud Le Pladec, her first full season at the Ballet de Lorraine
Here she is definitively in charge after her first half-season. Maud Le Pladec, who took up her post as head of the Ballet de Lorraine, officiates for its first official season. In a troupe marked by the long presence of Petter Jacobsson, Habits will probably change: the Swede used to always put as many people as possible on stage. The new director proposes the return of small forms, like the first program of the season, composed of revivals of pieces from the choreographic center's repertoire - including a recreation of one of her choreography entitled Works.
Another change is the appeal to guest companies on the opera stage: The Lyon Opera Ballet will be traveling in February with nothing less than Teresa de Keersmaeker on the program, one of the greatest contemporary choreographers.
Finally, the May premiere already promises to be an attractive one, with the presence of the Orchestra of Arts Florissants, a leading figure in the Baroque genre, and a collaboration between Maud Le Pladec and Josépha Madoki, a specialist in waacking, a street dance, for the choreography. This promises to be a true clash of worlds.
