"To all his detractors, I wish a hundredth of his courage," reacted Louis Sarkozy to the exclusion of his father Nicolas Sarkozy from the Legion of Honour on Sunday, June 15 on France Inter and franceinfo.

The former President of the Republic has been stripped of his Grand Cross - the highest rank in the Legion of Honour - after his final sentence of one year in prison for corruption in the wiretapping affair, according to a decree published in the Official Journal on Sunday.

"Nicolas Sarkozy, my father, acknowledges this decision and I will direct you to the statements of his lawyer, but I will simply say this: President Jacques Chirac awarded him his Legion of Honour following his participation in the 'HB' [Human Bomb] hostage crisis in Neuilly in 1993." He added: "To all his detractors, I wish a hundredth of his courage."

Louis Sarkozy assures that his father "legally contests" this decision of the Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor, "there is a procedure underway at the European Court of Human Rights and Nicolas Sarkozy's wish is that the truth triumphs and he is confident that one day it will triumph . " "There is no difficulty in being my father's son, there is only pride and honor, every day," adds Louis Sarkozy.
