Parliament definitively adopted the municipal voting reform in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille on Thursday, July 10. The bill proposed by Renaissance MP Sylvain Maillard was passed by 112 votes to 28 in the assembly.

Less than nine months before the municipal elections, Parliament definitively adopted on Thursday, July 10, the reform of the municipal elections in Paris, Lyon and Marseille, the government having decided to override the hostility of the Senate .

The deputies approved the bill by Sylvain Maillard (Renaissance) in its final reading by 112 votes to 28. The National Rally (RN), La France Insoumise (France Insoumise), and the majority of the government coalition gave their support to the reform, which should allow the voting system in the three metropolitan areas to be "brought closer to common law," according to the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Patrick Mignola (MoDem).
