Perpignan town hall, stronghold of RN Louis Aliot, raided for alleged irregular public procurement

Municipal offices raided in Perpignan . Following a report made at the end of September by opposition councilor Bruno Nougayrède, the town hall headed by Louis Aliot (RN) is now under investigation regarding the awarding of four public contracts, reports AFP.
The elected representative from the various right who raised the alarm about the situation has taken steps to denounce irregularities in these procurement procedures.
Tuesday's search aimed to obtain documents that "were communicated, and with the greatest possible transparency," the town hall stated in a press release, denouncing the "slanderous nature" of Mr. Nougayrède's accusations.
The report by this opposition representative came a few days after the publication of a report by the Occitanie regional audit office on "intellectual services entrusted to consulting firms by the municipality of Perpignan" between 2019 and 2023.
In its report, the regional audit office reviewed the town hall's "122 consultancy services".
"The ordering of consulting services should be better regulated," she wrote in a press release issued at the end of September.
"The departments have indeed regularly requested consultants without a prior formal definition of needs. However, this is all the more essential given that these are non-standardized and tailor-made services. Monitoring of the consultants' work needs to be improved to ensure that the outputs produced correspond to the needs of the community," the regional audit office continued.
The 2026 municipal election campaign "begins, with its banana skins and underhanded blows," Mr. Aliot told AFP on Tuesday evening.
