Photovoltaic park, jobs, convention... What to remember from the last municipal council meeting in Aups

Photovoltaic park, jobs, convention... What to remember from the last municipal council meeting in Aups

Even though the presence of elected officials at this council meeting was lower than usual, the quorum was reached and the deliberations were voted on unanimously.

The first topic discussed was the construction of a 16.6 hectare photovoltaic park fenced on the ground, at the Bois de Plérimond location, and 31.4 hectares for the areas of legal clearing obligations (OLD) of the park and access roads. "This project of general interest meets the energy transition objectives defined at national, regional and local level. It will be able to produce 31.04 GWh of energy," emphasized Antoine Faure, the mayor of Aups. "The investigating commissioner issued a favorable opinion after the environmental assessment with the landscape study, taking into account the expanded perimeter of the OLD and the widening of the perimeter tracks."

An agreement for the use of the swimming pool for schoolchildren

The elected officials also took advantage of this council to update the staffing table. It had not been revised since 1960, with many positions no longer occupied. It was therefore necessary to eliminate these "ghost" positions . Namely, two editor positions and three assistant positions, one engineer position, two technicians and seven supervisor positions. Four facilitator positions and two Atsem positions, to which are added one position in heritage and three others in the police.

A tripartite agreement on the provision of sports equipment and materials between the Campasun Verdon campsite, the municipality of Aups and the elementary and nursery schools has been adopted, in particular for the use of the pool during swimming sessions (on the basis of 34 one-hour sessions), until June 30 and from September 1 to 30, 2025, every day the school is open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A stay for teenagers is also planned, from July 7 to 11 in Barcelona, Spain. The cost of the stay (including accommodation with a family, a visit to Casa Milà, the Museum of Illusions, the Sagrada Familia, discovery of the port, a day at Port Aventura Park and transport) would amount to 1,023 euros per teenager on a projected basis of 15 teenagers, two activity leaders and a stay director. The municipality has decided to set the participation of families in this stay at 511 euros.

Miscellaneous questions: For the first phase of the rehabilitation of the former 1,200m² wine cellar, which is part of the town's remarkable heritage, into an agricultural and cultural cooperative, the town is requesting a grant from the Green Fund for "land recycling" for 80% of the projected deficit, or €484,000 excluding VAT. The future occupants of the building, once rehabilitated, are a community café, festive events, short-circuit agricultural products, a craft brewer, craftspeople, artist collectives, music...

The municipality also plans to set up a Competition Fund with TE83-Symielec for an amount of 115,625 euros to finance 75% of the work on Avenue Clemenceau.
