On Tuesday, May 20, conservative Catholic billionaire Pierre-Édouard Stérin, who spearheaded the Pericles project aimed at securing victory for the right and the far right, refused to appear before a National Assembly commission of inquiry. The commission is examining possible interference in the organization of elections.

This commission, aimed at investigating the transparency of the electoral process, was launched by La France Insoumise via its annual "drawing right" at the National Assembly. Since December 2024, 30 deputies from all sides have interviewed figures such as Roch-Olivier Maistre, president of the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom), Jean-Philippe Vachia, president of the National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing (CNCCFP), Frédéric Dabi, director general of the Ifop polling institute, and representatives from Google, Meta, X, TikTok, and Snapchat.
