Rhône. 1 million euros for the dissemination of live entertainment in the Lyon metropolitan area.

The Lyon Metropolitan Area has just approved a one million euro budget dedicated to promoting live performance across its territory. This measure is part of the cultural strategy initiated by the Metropolitan Area in 2020, the aim of which is to ensure equitable access to culture for all its residents.
Thanks to this funding, 16 theaters and 13 inter-municipal projects will be supported, with aid of up to 90% of each project's budget. The objectives are clear: to strengthen cultural offerings, promote diversity of disciplines (theater, dance, music, circus, etc.), encourage cooperation between municipalities, and diversify audiences.
In each territory, the Territorial Municipalities of Mayors (CTM) have created a suitable program: festivals such as Terre de Mystères or Saône en Scènes, traveling projects, artistic practice workshops and even cultural residencies.
For Cédric Van Styvendael, vice-president of the Lyon Metropolitan Area in charge of cultural policies, it is a matter of "trusting cultural stakeholders, encouraging freedom of creation and programming, working towards a logic of cooperation between municipalities and encouraging audiences, particularly young people, to become the spectators of tomorrow."
