Final-year students from the Joséphine-Baker high school in Sarlat were rewarded for their participation in the Fram2Ham competition. An incredible space adventure

Last April, the final year STI2D SIN (Information and Digital Systems) students from the Joséphine-Baker high school in Sarlat, supported by two students from the BTS Domotics and Communicating Buildings program, participated in the Fram2Ham competition. They were part of one of the 110 international teams involved in this competition ( https://fram2ham.com/ ) which was based on the Fram2 mission, a manned space mission to low Earth orbit.

During this mission, several photographs of the poles were taken, digitally divided into four, and then randomly sent by radio waves to Earth. The goal? To capture these images, piece together the puzzles, and find where they had been taken on the planet. It was a success for the high school students: in three days, they received all the signals from space, decoded all 12 images, and reconstructed the three photographs. With the help of their teacher and BTS students, the students were able to identify the Svalbard archipelago in Norway, the Franz Josef Archipelago in Russia, and the Antarctic Peninsula.
