"This morning, the Chablis gendarmerie barracks in Yonne was the target of hunting rifle fire, fortunately without any casualties," wrote Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau on the social network X on Sunday, July 6. He offered his "support to the gendarmes and their families targeted by these unacceptable shots" and expressed his "determination that this crime does not go unpunished."

Bruno Retailleau assures that the gendarmerie "is mobilizing all means to identify the culprits" and promises "to let nothing go, especially when it attacks those who defend us."
