The name of the new Minister of State in Monaco is known

While the interim was ensured by Isabelle Berro-Amadei since the death of Didier Guillaume last January , Prince Albert II had announced that the name of the new Minister of State would be known before the arrival of President Emmanuel Macron in Monaco as part of his state visit on June 7 and 8.

A promise kept, as the Prince's Palace has just announced the appointment of Philippe Mettoux as head of the Prince's government. Currently a member of the Council of State, he will take office on July 4.

Philippe Mettoux began his career in the judiciary as a public prosecutor in various courts, then joined the Criminal Affairs and Pardons Directorate of the Ministry of Justice and the Central Service for the Prevention of Corruption. He subsequently served as an advisor to Dominique Perben at the Chancellery, then to Dominique de Villepin at the Ministry of the Interior and Matignon, before joining the Council of State.

Since 2013, Philippe Mettoux has been seconded as Legal and Compliance Director of the SNCF group and internal mediator for the company.

"The Prince expresses his deep gratitude to Madame Isabelle Berro-Amadei for having assured, with dedication and efficiency, the interim functions of Minister of State for nearly six months, while continuing her duties as Government Advisor-Minister of External Relations and Cooperation" , states the press release from the Prince's Palace, emphasizing that "her great professionalism and her knowledge of the issues have largely contributed to ensuring the continuity of government action" .
