Guest on "Autrement dit" on Monday, June 30, Vincent Jeanbrun, Republican MP and spokesperson for the LR group in the National Assembly, discusses the upcoming bill to better insulate homes against heat during renovation work and protect tenants from "thermal kettles" against extreme heat.

In the midst of a heatwave, the topic of thermal boilers , these poorly insulated homes, is back in the news. It is estimated that a third of homes in France are affected by this problem, which will be the subject of a cross-party bill soon to be tabled in the National Assembly. "We will join the discussion," confirmed Vincent Jeanbrun, a Republican MP and spokesperson for the LR group in the National Assembly, in "Autrement dit" on Monday, June 30.

The number of homes affected should increase with global warming, specifies the former mayor of L'Haÿ-les-Roses, in Val-de-Marne. "Thermal colanders, when it's very cold in winter, and thermal kettles, when it's very hot in summer, it's often the same housing poorly designed from the start," points out the elected official, who believes that there is "a challenge to be met" and advocates "adaptation." The desire to protect tenants against the heat by adapting housing "is magnificent, it's a societal objective and it must be defended by the French government," adds Vincent Jeanbrun, who questions the "concrete path to get there." "Who pays? Is it public money, with national solidarity? Is it the owner who has to do the work?" asks the former mayor.
