Once envisioned on the site that housed the local mission, opposite the conservatory, the crematorium will ultimately be built on land at the Désandrouins site, which the city will purchase from the hospital. This was announced at the city council meeting on June 2.
Voted in September 2023, the desire to build a crematorium on the ruins of the local mission, opposite the conservatory, has fizzled out.
