Vote of confidence: "Whatever the answer, we will have to put the question of our financing model on the table," points out Aurore Bergé, Minister for Equality between Women and Men.

On Thursday, August 28, it was the turn of Aurore Bergé, the Minister Delegate for Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination, to answer questions from Cyril Adriaens-Allemand in "Les 4 Vérités" on the presidential camp's dilemma in the run-up to the confidence vote on September 8.
Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the announcement of a confidence vote on September 8th in the National Assembly that could bring down the government, François Bayrou will hold talks with party leaders starting next Monday, while the opposition has overwhelmingly expressed its refusal to vote for confidence and keep him in Matignon. Some, including Marine Le Pen, claim that the Prime Minister has not responded to their requests to discuss this summer. The latter has assured that the opposition parties are not reachable. "I don't want to get into a controversy, I think we all agree to return to the table," reacted Minister Aurore Bergé, a guest at the "4V" this Thursday, August 28th.
For Aurore Bergé, "what is essential is that we can, today and now, ask ourselves 'does this debate exist?'" The minister insists on the importance of aligning "with the observation" : "We can no longer even agree on the reality of the facts, the figures," she laments. "I hope that everyone will be around the table and that no one will boycott the fact that we are already able to talk to each other in the same room," continues Aurore Bergé, who admits to Renaissance "points of nuance, of difference compared to the plan" of François Bayrou for 2026. "But whatever the answer given on September 8, the questions will remain, they will still be there in the coming months on this budget, and on the others... It is something broader that we will have to rethink, we will have to ask the question of our financing model," she points out.
As for what comes after September 8, Aurore Bergé is not planning ahead: "I'm waiting for the 8th, and I don't consider it a lost cause on principle, otherwise I would do something else (...), I think we can convince the French," assures the minister.
