War in Ukraine: France and Poland sign a treaty on enhanced cooperation

On Friday, May 9, the French President received the Polish Prime Minister in Nancy to sign a treaty on "enhanced cooperation," including "mutual assistance" in the event of "armed aggression."

The treaty aims in particular to strengthen military ties between the two countries. The Polish Prime Minister even mentions cooperation on nuclear deterrence.
A 30-day truce will be discussed on Saturday, May 10, in Kyiv at a summit of European leaders from the Coalition of the Willing. This alliance brings together some thirty countries allied with Ukraine, led by France and the United Kingdom. The meeting will take place partly virtually and partly in person. “We need this coalition and we need it to be strong enough to guarantee security as we understand it,” declared Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President.
